Psalms 90:12

LORD, make me to know mine end, and the measure of my days, what it is; that I may know how frail I am. how...: or, what time I have here

O that they were wise, that they understood this, that they would consider their latter end!

I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.

Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.

Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.

So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding; Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding; liftest...: Heb. givest thy voice If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures; Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God. For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.

Now therefore hearken unto me, O ye children: for blessed are they that keep my ways. Hear instruction, and be wise, and refuse it not. Blessed is the man that heareth me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors. For whoso findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain favour of the LORD. obtain: Heb. bring forth But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death.

Through desire a man, having separated himself, seeketh and intermeddleth with all wisdom. Through...: or, He that separateth himself seeketh according to his desire, and intermeddleth in every business A fool hath no delight in understanding, but that his heart may discover itself.

And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.

Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding. that getteth...: Heb. that draweth out understanding For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold. She is more precious than rubies: and all the things thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her. Length of days is in her right hand; and in her left hand riches and honour. Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace. She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her: and happy is every one that retaineth her.

My son, keep my words, and lay up my commandments with thee. Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of thine eye. Bind them upon thy fingers, write them upon the table of thine heart. Say unto wisdom, Thou art my sister; and call understanding thy kinswoman:

Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth.
