Psalms 55:4

The sorrows of death compassed me, and the pains of hell gat hold upon me: I found trouble and sorrow. gat...: Heb. found me

I said in the cutting off of my days, I shall go to the gates of the grave: I am deprived of the residue of my years. I said, I shall not see the LORD, even the LORD, in the land of the living: I shall behold man no more with the inhabitants of the world. Mine age is departed, and is removed from me as a shepherd's tent: I have cut off like a weaver my life: he will cut me off with pining sickness: from day even to night wilt thou make an end of me. with...: or, from the thrum I reckoned till morning, that, as a lion, so will he break all my bones: from day even to night wilt thou make an end of me.

For my soul is full of troubles: and my life draweth nigh unto the grave.

Now is my soul troubled; and what shall I say? Father, save me from this hour: but for this cause came I unto this hour.

And he took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and very heavy. And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.

My soul is also sore vexed: but thou, O LORD, how long?

And he taketh with him Peter and James and John, and began to be sore amazed, and to be very heavy; And saith unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful unto death: tarry ye here, and watch.
