Psalms 34:21

And he shall bring upon them their own iniquity, and shall cut them off in their own wickedness; yea, the LORD our God shall cut them off.

Let them be desolate for a reward of their shame that say unto me, Aha, aha.

Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you;

But his citizens hated him, and sent a message after him, saying, We will not have this man to reign over us.

For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief.

And when he was come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it, Saying, If thou hadst known, even thou, at least in this thy day, the things which belong unto thy peace! but now they are hid from thine eyes. For the days shall come upon thee, that thine enemies shall cast a trench about thee, and compass thee round, and keep thee in on every side, And shall lay thee even with the ground, and thy children within thee; and they shall not leave in thee one stone upon another; because thou knewest not the time of thy visitation.

The wicked plotteth against the just, and gnasheth upon him with his teeth. plotteth: or, practiseth The Lord shall laugh at him: for he seeth that his day is coming. The wicked have drawn out the sword, and have bent their bow, to cast down the poor and needy, and to slay such as be of upright conversation. such...: Heb. the upright of way Their sword shall enter into their own heart, and their bows shall be broken.

Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.

If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also. But all these things will they do unto you for my name's sake, because they know not him that sent me. If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloke for their sin. cloke: or, excuse He that hateth me hateth my Father also.

And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, There is yet one man, Micaiah the son of Imlah, by whom we may enquire of the LORD: but I hate him; for he doth not prophesy good concerning me, but evil. And Jehoshaphat said, Let not the king say so.

The world cannot hate you; but me it hateth, because I testify of it, that the works thereof are evil.

Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;
