Psalms 116:9

I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.

Therefore now, LORD God of Israel, keep with thy servant David my father that thou promisedst him, saying, There shall not fail thee a man in my sight to sit on the throne of Israel; so that thy children take heed to their way, that they walk before me as thou hast walked before me. fail...: Heb. be cut off unto thee a man from my sight so that: Heb. only if

And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect. perfect: or, upright, or, sincere

In holiness and righteousness before him, all the days of our life.

And if thou wilt walk before me, as David thy father walked, in integrity of heart, and in uprightness, to do according to all that I have commanded thee, and wilt keep my statutes and my judgments:

That the LORD may continue his word which he spake concerning me, saying, If thy children take heed to their way, to walk before me in truth with all their heart and with all their soul, there shall not fail thee (said he) a man on the throne of Israel. fail...: Heb. be cut off from thee from the throne

He shall abide before God for ever: O prepare mercy and truth, which may preserve him.

He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken. from prison...: or, away by distress and judgment: but, etc was he...: Heb. was the stroke upon him

And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless.
