Proverbs 23:33

In the day of our king the princes have made him sick with bottles of wine; he stretched out his hand with scorners. bottles...: or, heat through wine

These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots; Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever.

To deliver thee from the way of the evil man, from the man that speaketh froward things;

They that sit in the gate speak against me; and I was the song of the drunkards. drunkards: Heb. drinkers of strong drink

Lest they drink, and forget the law, and pervert the judgment of any of the afflicted. prevert: Heb. alter of any...: Heb. of all the sons of affliction

They drank wine, and praised the gods of gold, and of silver, of brass, of iron, of wood, and of stone.

Come, let us make our father drink wine, and we will lie with him, that we may preserve seed of our father. And they made their father drink wine that night: and the firstborn went in, and lay with her father; and he perceived not when she lay down, nor when she arose. And it came to pass on the morrow, that the firstborn said unto the younger, Behold, I lay yesternight with my father: let us make him drink wine this night also; and go thou in, and lie with him, that we may preserve seed of our father. And they made their father drink wine that night also: and the younger arose, and lay with him; and he perceived not when she lay down, nor when she arose. Thus were both the daughters of Lot with child by their father. And the firstborn bare a son, and called his name Moab: the same is the father of the Moabites unto this day. And the younger, she also bare a son, and called his name Benammi: the same is the father of the children of Ammon unto this day.
