Proverbs 12:1

Correction is grievous unto him that forsaketh the way: and he that hateth reproof shall die. Correction: or, Instruction

MEM. O how love I thy law! it is my meditation all the day. Thou through thy commandments hast made me wiser than mine enemies: for they are ever with me. they...: Heb. it is ever with me I have more understanding than all my teachers: for thy testimonies are my meditation. I understand more than the ancients, because I keep thy precepts.

And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

Be ye not as the horse, or as the mule, which have no understanding: whose mouth must be held in with bit and bridle, lest they come near unto thee.

He that reproveth a scorner getteth to himself shame: and he that rebuketh a wicked man getteth himself a blot. Reprove not a scorner, lest he hate thee: rebuke a wise man, and he will love thee.

Through desire a man, having separated himself, seeketh and intermeddleth with all wisdom. Through...: or, He that separateth himself seeketh according to his desire, and intermeddleth in every business

A brutish man knoweth not; neither doth a fool understand this.

Now therefore hearken unto me, O ye children: for blessed are they that keep my ways.

Make me to understand the way of thy precepts: so shall I talk of thy wondrous works.

I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me.

When wisdom entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul; Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee:

The ox knoweth his owner, and the ass his master's crib: but Israel doth not know, my people doth not consider.
