Matthew 22:16

And the Pharisees went forth, and straightway took counsel with the Herodians against him, how they might destroy him.

And they reasoned among themselves, saying, It is because we have no bread.

He that speaketh of himself seeketh his own glory: but he that seeketh his glory that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him.

But of these who seemed to be somewhat, (whatsoever they were, it maketh no matter to me: God accepteth no man's person:) for they who seemed to be somewhat in conference added nothing to me:

And when they were come, they say unto him, Master, we know that thou art true, and carest for no man: for thou regardest not the person of men, but teachest the way of God in truth: Is it lawful to give tribute to Caesar, or not?

And last of all the woman died also.

Therefore have I also made you contemptible and base before all the people, according as ye have not kept my ways, but have been partial in the law. have been...: or, lifted up the face against: Heb. accepted faces

In transgressing and lying against the LORD, and departing away from our God, speaking oppression and revolt, conceiving and uttering from the heart words of falsehood. And judgment is turned away backward, and justice standeth afar off: for truth is fallen in the street, and equity cannot enter. For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
