Malachi 1:13

O my people, what have I done unto thee? and wherein have I wearied thee? testify against me.

When ye come to appear before me, who hath required this at your hand, to tread my courts? to appear: Heb. to be seen

Will ye steal, murder, and commit adultery, and swear falsely, and burn incense unto Baal, and walk after other gods whom ye know not; And come and stand before me in this house, which is called by my name, and say, We are delivered to do all these abominations? which...: Heb. whereupon my name is called Is this house, which is called by my name, become a den of robbers in your eyes? Behold, even I have seen it, saith the LORD.

I hate, I despise your feast days, and I will not smell in your solemn assemblies. in...: or, your holy days Though ye offer me burnt offerings and your meat offerings, I will not accept them: neither will I regard the peace offerings of your fat beasts. peace...: or, thank offerings Take thou away from me the noise of thy songs; for I will not hear the melody of thy viols.

And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

But thou hast not called upon me, O Jacob; but thou hast been weary of me, O Israel. Speak unto all the people of the land, and to the priests, saying, When ye fasted and mourned in the fifth and seventh month, even those seventy years, did ye at all fast unto me, even to me? And when ye did eat, and when ye did drink, did not ye eat for yourselves, and drink for yourselves? did not ye: or, be not ye they that

Ye offer polluted bread upon mine altar; and ye say, Wherein have we polluted thee? Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Put your burnt offerings unto your sacrifices, and eat flesh. And there were some that had indignation within themselves, and said, Why was this waste of the ointment made? For it might have been sold for more than three hundred pence, and have been given to the poor. And they murmured against her.

The priests shall not eat of any thing that is dead of itself, or torn, whether it be fowl or beast.

That which dieth of itself, or is torn with beasts, he shall not eat to defile himself therewith: I am the LORD.
