Leviticus 24:2

And thou shalt command the children of Israel, that they bring thee pure oil olive beaten for the light, to cause the lamp to burn always. to burn: Heb. to ascend up In the tabernacle of the congregation without the vail, which is before the testimony, Aaron and his sons shall order it from evening to morning before the LORD: it shall be a statute for ever unto their generations on the behalf of the children of Israel.

The pure candlestick, with the lamps thereof, even with the lamps to be set in order, and all the vessels thereof, and the oil for light,

To give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.

NUN. Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. lamp: or, candle

And they burn unto the LORD every morning and every evening burnt sacrifices and sweet incense: the shewbread also set they in order upon the pure table; and the candlestick of gold with the lamps thereof, to burn every evening: for we keep the charge of the LORD our God; but ye have forsaken him.

That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.

He was a burning and a shining light: and ye were willing for a season to rejoice in his light.

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

Let your loins be girded about, and your lights burning;

That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: in...: or, for the acknowledgement The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,
