Job 12:2

The rich man is wise in his own conceit; but the poor that hath understanding searcheth him out. own...: Heb. eyes

I have heard the check of my reproach, and the spirit of my understanding causeth me to answer.

We are fools for Christ's sake, but ye are wise in Christ; we are weak, but ye are strong; ye are honourable, but we are despised.

Should not the multitude of words be answered? and should a man full of talk be justified? full...: Heb. of lips

For thou hast hid their heart from understanding: therefore shalt thou not exalt them.

And that he would shew thee the secrets of wisdom, that they are double to that which is! Know therefore that God exacteth of thee less than thine iniquity deserveth.

Teach me, and I will hold my tongue: and cause me to understand wherein I have erred. How forcible are right words! but what doth your arguing reprove?

I said, Days should speak, and multitude of years should teach wisdom. But there is a spirit in man: and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding. Great men are not always wise: neither do the aged understand judgment. Therefore I said, Hearken to me; I also will shew mine opinion.
