James 2:6

What? have ye not houses to eat and to drink in? or despise ye the church of God, and shame them that have not? What shall I say to you? shall I praise you in this? I praise you not. have not: or, are poor?

And when they found them not, they drew Jason and certain brethren unto the rulers of the city, crying, These that have turned the world upside down are come hither also;

Ye have condemned and killed the just; and he doth not resist you.

As for Saul, he made havock of the church, entering into every house, and haling men and women committed them to prison.

But the Jews stirred up the devout and honourable women, and the chief men of the city, and raised persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and expelled them out of their coasts.

Ye have shamed the counsel of the poor, because the LORD is his refuge.

He that oppresseth the poor reproacheth his Maker: but he that honoureth him hath mercy on the poor.

And when Gallio was the deputy of Achaia, the Jews made insurrection with one accord against Paul, and brought him to the judgment seat,

Whoso mocketh the poor reproacheth his Maker: and he that is glad at calamities shall not be unpunished. unpunished: Heb. held innocent

He sitteth in the lurking places of the villages: in the secret places doth he murder the innocent: his eyes are privily set against the poor. are...: Heb. hide themselves

Behold, the hire of the labourers who have reaped down your fields, which is of you kept back by fraud, crieth: and the cries of them which have reaped are entered into the ears of the Lord of sabaoth. sabaoth: Heb. hosts

Then went the captain with the officers, and brought them without violence: for they feared the people, lest they should have been stoned. And when they had brought them, they set them before the council: and the high priest asked them,
