James 2:17

For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also. spirit: or, breath

What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?

Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned:

Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?

And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. barren: Gr. idle But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.

And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.

And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.

Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father;
