Isaiah 14:24

For to do whatsoever thy hand and thy counsel determined before to be done.

But he is in one mind, and who can turn him? and what his soul desireth, even that he doeth.

There are many devices in a man's heart; nevertheless the counsel of the LORD, that shall stand.

At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes.

O LORD, how great are thy works! and thy thoughts are very deep.

Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself:

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. expected...: Heb. end and expectation

The LORD hath sworn by the excellency of Jacob, Surely I will never forget any of their works.

For men verily swear by the greater: and an oath for confirmation is to them an end of all strife. Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath: confirmed...: Gr. interposed himself by That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us:

Therefore hear ye the word of the LORD, all Judah that dwell in the land of Egypt; Behold, I have sworn by my great name, saith the LORD, that my name shall no more be named in the mouth of any man of Judah in all the land of Egypt, saying, The Lord GOD liveth.

The LORD hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek.

Who is he that saith, and it cometh to pass, when the Lord commandeth it not?
