Exodus 20:16

He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness,

A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaketh lies shall not escape. unpunished: Heb. held innocent

He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour. taketh...: or, receiveth, or, endureth

Thou shalt not raise a false report: put not thine hand with the wicked to be an unrighteous witness. raise: or, receive

But found none: yea, though many false witnesses came, yet found they none. At the last came two false witnesses, And said, This fellow said, I am able to destroy the temple of God, and to build it in three days.

Whoso privily slandereth his neighbour, him will I cut off: him that hath an high look and a proud heart will not I suffer. Mine eyes shall be upon the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me: he that walketh in a perfect way, he shall serve me. in a...: or, perfect in the way He that worketh deceit shall not dwell within my house: he that telleth lies shall not tarry in my sight. shall not tarry: Heb. shall not be established

Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:

Speak not evil one of another, brethren. He that speaketh evil of his brother, and judgeth his brother, speaketh evil of the law, and judgeth the law: but if thou judge the law, thou art not a doer of the law, but a judge.

For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine;

Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, false...: or, one who foments strife

Thou shalt not go up and down as a talebearer among thy people: neither shalt thou stand against the blood of thy neighbour: I am the LORD.

He that hideth hatred with lying lips, and he that uttereth a slander, is a fool.
