2 Chronicles 10:10

There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the LORD.

He that is of a proud heart stirreth up strife: but he that putteth his trust in the LORD shall be made fat.

Surely the princes of Zoan are fools, the counsel of the wise counsellors of Pharaoh is become brutish: how say ye unto Pharaoh, I am the son of the wise, the son of ancient kings? Where are they? where are thy wise men? and let them tell thee now, and let them know what the LORD of hosts hath purposed upon Egypt. And the young men that were grown up with him spake unto him, saying, Thus shalt thou speak unto this people that spake unto thee, saying, Thy father made our yoke heavy, but make thou it lighter unto us; thus shalt thou say unto them, My little finger shall be thicker than my father's loins. And now whereas my father did lade you with a heavy yoke, I will add to your yoke: my father hath chastised you with whips, but I will chastise you with scorpions.

A wise man feareth, and departeth from evil: but the fool rageth, and is confident.

A man's pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit.

Wise men lay up knowledge: but the mouth of the foolish is near destruction.

A fool's lips enter into contention, and his mouth calleth for strokes. A fool's mouth is his destruction, and his lips are the snare of his soul.
