1 Thessalonians 2:6

I receive not honour from men.

Am I not an apostle? am I not free? have I not seen Jesus Christ our Lord? are not ye my work in the Lord? If I be not an apostle unto others, yet doubtless I am to you: for the seal of mine apostleship are ye in the Lord.

Wherefore, though I might be much bold in Christ to enjoin thee that which is convenient, Yet for love's sake I rather beseech thee, being such an one as Paul the aged, and now also a prisoner of Jesus Christ.

How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that cometh from God only?

For ye remember, brethren, our labour and travail: for labouring night and day, because we would not be chargeable unto any of you, we preached unto you the gospel of God.

For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.

Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine.

For they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God.

For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. Gentiles: Gr. Greeks For the body is not one member, but many. If the foot shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?

Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man.

Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.

For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake.
