1 Peter 4:1

For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:

Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. affections: or, passions

Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. having...: or, having overcome all

God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil;

The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light. Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying. honestly: or, decently But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.

For he that is dead is freed from sin. freed: Gr. justified

For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.

For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.

For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory. Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:

Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
