1 Chronicles 11:5

Then Solomon assembled the elders of Israel, and all the heads of the tribes, the chief of the fathers of the children of Israel, unto king Solomon in Jerusalem, that they might bring up the ark of the covenant of the LORD out of the city of David, which is Zion. chief: Heb. princes

So David dwelt in the fort, and called it the city of David. And David built round about from Millo and inward.

The LORD loveth the gates of Zion more than all the dwellings of Jacob.

And David dwelt in the castle; therefore they called it the city of David. it: that is, Zion

And David spake to the men that stood by him, saying, What shall be done to the man that killeth this Philistine, and taketh away the reproach from Israel? for who is this uncircumcised Philistine, that he should defy the armies of the living God?

For there are set thrones of judgment, the thrones of the house of David. are...: Heb. do sit

As it is written, Behold, I lay in Sion a stumblingstone and rock of offence: and whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. ashamed: or confounded

Beautiful for situation, the joy of the whole earth, is mount Zion, on the sides of the north, the city of the great King.

And of Zion it shall be said, This and that man was born in her: and the highest himself shall establish her.

The LORD hath accomplished his fury; he hath poured out his fierce anger, and hath kindled a fire in Zion, and it hath devoured the foundations thereof. The kings of the earth, and all the inhabitants of the world, would not have believed that the adversary and the enemy should have entered into the gates of Jerusalem.

And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father's name written in their foreheads.
